quickie 60da goodness

I have to say I am suprised at these shots, was 23'c EXIF and mixed clouds which limited my shots. Was messing about with the 60Da waiting for a clear patch to get the CCD out.
Ended up with 45 minutes of six minute subs on B33 and about an hour of six minute subs on Rosette. Tak 120 on a CGEM. StarTools cropped and binned to 35% then DD'd and wiped and tweaked the saturation only. (Calibration frames applied).
I think this camera (60Da) will be a lethal weapon if I go ahead and get the cooler mod done to it. (Central DS)
Can you get 150% clouds? Because that's what I have got tonight (clouds on clouds on clouds!)

Thanks for looking anyway- these are my first pics for seems like months.
Graham

Thanks Laurie. Was expecting a whole lot less for the small amount of subs taken. Bloody clouds!

very nice Graham. Is it just me i thought the 60Da would have brought out a bit more colour.

There's a horse in there!!

Good to see the 60Da out.

I think I've been out only 2 or 3 times this year thanks to my work and hardly being home.

Darrin...

The Horsehead nebula is my next "mission"... I got a replacement glass for my 300D to make it full spectrum (didn't get a chance to pull the DSLR apart to replace yet), then I'm attempting to hit the Horsehead.

I tried with a unmodded DSLR but I was only getting a slight whisper of the nebula, your camera is way more sensitive.
Great pic, well done.

Looking at them today on my work computer the B33 is way darker than when I post processed it at home on my laptop. So it doesn't really represent how good this camera actually is. Even on the screen acquiring the images as they downloaded I could see a lot of detail
I will re process to max this weekend if I get time.
Cheers
Graham

It is a really good idea to calibrate your monitor before processing.
There are inexpensive calibration units available these days, or use the free test patterns.

OSX has a pretty nice routine built in, on windows there are a bunch of free programs like http://www.calibrize.com/primer1.html

Just found this but haven't tried it. It has a primer on colour and calibration (4 pages) and a free download of the software.
www.calibrize.com

The primer starts here: http://www.calibrize.com/primer1.html
