Has anyone dealt with Australia(n) Telescopes?

I'm getting a bit worried. I ordered some equipment online from Australia(n) Telescopes (the "n" appears and disappears on their website). The equipment was listed as being in stock and "Delivery Express-Fast Shipping" on October 10, 2012. My credit card was charged straight away. No equipment has been delivered yet (22/10/2012). When I eventually found a phone number on their website, there was a recorded message saying my phone number would be forwarded elsewhere as a text. I would be interested to know of any dealings others have had with this company.

One guy bought the same scope as I did from them... He got his the next day after purchase. Mine took a week, more if you include both the weekends...

It was listed as being in stock... But I did get it so I wouldn't worry...

I've been waiting three weeks for a bag that was listed as in stock. I ordered an eyepiece at the same time and it arrived after a week. Multiple attempts to contact them via email and phone have had no reply. I'm not so much worried about the time frame but more the lack of communication.

Anyone else having similar experiences?

One advantage of paying for online purchases with Paypal, if this sort of thing happens, let paypal know, and pretty soon you either get a reply from the vendor or get your money back. I have had a couple of purchases turn to crud no replies etc etc, and I luckily used paypal for the purchase, replies were very rapid in forthcoming, if nothing recieved, from the vendor, I got my money back within a couple of weeks of notifying paypal of the issues.

I bought my ED80 from them. It arrived very quickly. The communication though could have been better. None of their phone numbers worked for me.

I did indeed use PayPal so if nothing happens by the end of the week I'll get them to follow it up for me. Thanks for the advice.

I wouldn't wait until the end of the week, I would get onto paypal straight away. Two weeks is a long time for delivery in Australia, in my experience. The longest I have ever waited is 10 days for a road delivery from Sydney, and I live in WA (Wait Awhile).

I hope you sort it out.

They show the eq8 as in stock and hundreds cheaper than anywhere else.
Then they add that they want a $2K deposit and it's not available till march 2013.
I think I'll stick to the known dealers thanks.

I would advise anyone wanting to deal with these people to be VERY careful. I have just been informed by TASCO that they are no longer supplying this company and will not be doing so in the future. TASCO supplied some Skywatcher items earlier this year but since then have refused to deal with them
