Budget finder choice

I have a budget Newtonian scope and want a matching finder. What I have now is a 20x-something with a plastic mount that came with it. Hopeless, can't zero it with the three screws.

Seems to me a reflex red dot rifle sight type unit is popular for about $45AU.
A similar red dot look-through tube type 30x1 power scope could be used too, cost about the same.
A green laser is also popular. All cost about the same in my searches on Ebay etc.

I'm going to make my own riser mount so ignore that part of the finder.

Which of those three is the best for a small Newtonian scope (5") for city backyard viewing (and the odd trip out bush with it) ?

Is a green laser importable now anyway, or has the law not been finalized yet.

Thanks guys,
Martin

So many stars, so many questions....

Edit: Actually I found a fourth choice, I have two spare small rifle scopes at about 4x20 size. Stars look quite clear though them but the reticle is hard to see. Adjustment is very nice on those if mounted solidly.
Anybody used one with success ?
