M8 & M20,70 to 300mm kit lens.

Hi,

It's been a tough gig trying to get reasonable images out of the standard 70 to 300m zoom that came with the canon 1100D. This is my best attempt so far, focus seems absolutely critical othwise I get bad halo's.
There is also a flexure problem with the lens itself, I beefed up the mounting for the camera, this helped so it's now just the lens.

This image was taken at 250mm at F/6.3, ISO 800, 5 and 8 minute subs 52 minutes total.

Cheers,

Justin.

Nice field of view Justin. Given the lens this is quite a good image. Keep at it.

Thanks Paul!

Another item on my wish list, a decent 300 to 400mm lens, although I'm probably better of with an ED 80.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks David!

Must say that DSS does a good job of averaging out the frames with slightly trailed stars.

Cheers,

Justin.

There seems to be some red flaring here and there Justin but on the whole very nice indeed.

Cheers
