M17 Swan Nebula or my ugly duck?

M17 Swan Nebula

10 X 30 sec subs at ISO 3200
No darks or flats
Sony Nex-3 Camera
Unguided on Alt/Az Mount 12” LX200
Stacked in DSS

This is my first photo of a Nebula, I am still learning how to use the camera
and the stacking and processing software, in some ways I think my swan looks
like an ugly duck, so in time with lots of practice it should turn into a beautiful swan.

I am still reading through many helpful articles in this site and any helpful comments
would be appreciated, I need to learn.

Thanks Wayne.

It's a fantastic result, and more so when you look at how it was taken.
Unguided. P&S digital. 30 secs exposure. Alt/Az.
Crikey, keep shooting. Lower the ISO, shoot more subs, do darks and flat, use a reducer.
