Solar disk, mega filament 6 August

I took this data yesterday but only got around to posting it today. Several hours processing (9 hours) .

There is a few defects in this that need fixing but I will get to that soon.

Take a good look around.

just lovely

Hi Paul

Another GREAT SHOT. Congratulations.

Just love how we get to re-live what we have seen in real life over and over through great photography and persistent processing - this is excellent.

It has really moved on today - about half of that filament left - i was hoping to watch it curl over the limb.

cheers
Karen

Just when I thought that I had seen the plateau of what seemed feasible from the Forum’s top solar imagers, you go and post this! Really nice work Paul.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks guys. Very much appreciate your high praise. Dennis I am always in awe of your solar images and wonder if I will be able to attain even just a fraction of what you get with my new Herschell wedge (impending arrival this week).

Work, and now very inclement weather, has kept me away from old Sol for a bit, so nice to see a classy solar hemisphere capture.

Nicely done
