Just got back from Canberra, after having attended the PM's Science Medal award dinner. Felt very humbled to be in the same room as Brian Schmidt (Nobel prize in Physics ) and Ken Freeman (this year PM medal recipient).
It was also great to see an Astronomer get this year's Medal.
Brian Schmidt who...not surprisingly was in great demand...extended his hand and recalled we had met before at the CWAS Astrofest in Parkes.....hence it was delightful to spend a few minutes to chat about his Physics prize. He is an absolute gentleman and scholar!
