Celestron add ons

Greetings, a couple of questions...
does the Meade f6.3 focal reducer (SCT's) work for the similar C8 or C11 Celestron SCT's or do they have a different thread?
Any one had a decent go with a radial guider with a big SCT? Any advice?
Mutsubishi have guiders with an SCT adaptor (OAG) at Hutech, anyone had a go with these?

Anyone with any advice (apart from buy a fastar set up!) for using a bigger SCT with OAG ?
Cheers
Graz

Hi Graham-I used to have a 10" Meade S/C many years ago, and started off using Meade's own OAG-that was a bit limited in finding guide stars. Then I got a Lumicon Giant Easiguider, and it was brilliant! Only works with 10" Meade and C11, and has a built-in focal reducer.
They also make a standard easy guider for smaller S/Cs and it has a built in focal reducer too, but I have no experience of this one

The meade will work, as long as your Celestron isn't one of the EdgeHD models.

I use an OAG with my C8 and C9.25 and am very happy with it. The one hanging on the back of this filter wheel:

If you want to buy a faster/hyperstar setup, drop me a line, all my gear will be going on the chopping block shortly due to a life-change.

I have a Meade f/6.3 focal reducer on the back of my C8. I do believe that the C11 has a 3" thread though rather than a 2" of the C8

Graz,
I use the standard reducer on both the C9.25 and the C11 - fits both.
I used the GEG for many years on 10" and 12" SCT's worked very well!
OAG is fiddly to set up the first time, but after that it just does it's job.
I currently use a beamsplitter guide set-up -Lodestar guider on the spectroscopes - works with PHD and Al's reticule - no issues, no problems.
