Help to find USB/Serial adapter for Win 7

Hi guys,

Someone out there should have an answer I have tried my old Belkin F5U405 Adapter and my U232-P9 adapter on my Win7 64bit machine but it will not load the drivers for it, and will not work... Does anyone know of a Prolific USB/Serial adapter or even a driver that will work under Win7-64bit?

I have had no issues with my Keyspan USA19h and my Toshiba Win7 64 bit i7 laptop - available from Wildcard (Argo Navis manufacturer) at about $50.

Keyspan - have a look on eBay for a good price from the US. I have two (mount & Robofocus) running via a hub on my Win 7 laptop.

I just tried their drivers as I found a USB/Serial device in my junk box and my Win 7 system recognised it as a PL2303. The drivers didn't work and Prolific said the error code I got was typical for cheap chinese knock-offs of their chipset. No wonder I had filed it in my JB.

Hi Trevor,

YES! this one worked a treat. Thankyou very much. I did have a bit of a worry though when my computer didnt start up again... I got really worries so I disconnected all USB ports, found out it was the USB line to my mobile phone which prevented it from starting, I guess it was looking at it as a mass storage device... wont do that again...

Thanks to everyone else for their help also. Your efforts may have worked also but Trevors was the first I tried...

Andrew.
