A transit collage (and now with animation!)

Hi all,

Here's a little collage of some of my images, including a series around first and second contact. After this I headed into my kid's school with my telescope and only managed to occasional shot (but had lots of fun sharing it with the kids!).

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

Great work Stephen, this is great-the best PPing and presentation I've seen,I really like the top set the most, what software do you use to do all that?although I suspect its more the clever skills you have in PPing.

Thank very much Ray, Derek, Chris, David and Matt! Much appreciated.

I used GIMP to put the collage together, after first processing the frames in LR3.

I've just put together a little animation covering the first 30 minutes of the transit using GIMP as well.

The 0.9 meg file can be found here.

Cheers,
Stephen

And here's a final animation which spans the entire transit! There's a few big gaps (where I was showing the school kids the transit through my scope), but I'm pleased to have captured enough images to put this together.

The 1.3 mg file is here. Hope you like it.

Cheers,
Stephen
