Had basically been wanting to try and catch io going into the shadow of jupiter.
Last 90 sec run of the night, it must have been getting close and suddenly the alt drive plays up, leave the avi capturing and coarse control the planet back up to the screen and it overshoots, finally get it back on screen after say 20-30 seconds and io has dissappeared.
Didn't take long at all.
On going thru the video, i salvaged 100 odd frames and put this messy crescent of io together.
Bird mentioned it travels fast, but I did not really realise how fast io moves in 90 seconds!!!
Excellent effort Dave, looks like you had a bit of variability in the seeing there, or was it low on the horizon at the time? Io looks a little colour misaligned.
Great persistance! Shame about the hardware probs at the time.
"If you feel you are being unfairly picked on, or suffering from unwanted actions from "bullies", then please contact your nearest moderator"
1ponders is your first point of contact, he is loving and caring, but not if you have a reflector and take pictures of planets.
if not successful with 1ponders, then your next point of call is asimov. whilst not technically a moderator, he will pull out the duct tape, welder & extension tube and you won't have to worry about bullies any more.
If you are being picked on by the boss, then let us know so we can all join in ..................mob rules!!!!
to think, it was only a few month ago that getting detail from the moons of jupiter was just wishful thinking...
