Quick go at Eta Carinae nebula

Had a quick go at Eta Carinae tonight

Eta Carinae Nebula
Testing the modded Canon 1100D
Saxon ED100
5x10 sec exposures @ iso-3200 plus darks
Stacked in DSS, processed in CS5.1

Thanks to hubby for modding the camera

It was only a quick go to test the camera so the image wasnt centered but it looks like the modded canon 1100D it going to do a good job.

Question, are you guiding as I was wondering why the high ISO and short ish exposure times?

Thanks Ken, no not guiding, was using the high iso just to test the newly modded camera and atm can only get about 10-20sec exposure without star trails.

Thats a great result Paula, I like the 1st better as it shows more of the fainter nebulosity ? I also find it creditable with how much neb you have gathered, well done )

You have the camera, next step is to get some guiding happening so you can start taking longer exposures.

Currently saving for an eq5 or eq6 as the mount ive got has no guiding features.
