Self Levelling Compounds

I plan to use a self levelling compound to finish the top of my concrete column. I wont need a lot ... I reckon a litre at the most, probably more like 300 mls. I have looked at products like ardex and it seems they only come in much larger quantities.

Does anyone know of products of this nature that come in small quantities.
I suppose I could always just mix up an epoxy brew, I dont know how well this would self level though.

Thanks

Hi Jeff.
You can get smaller quantities, Dunlop brand which is manufactured by Ardex comes in a five litre bucket. I have used this for other jobs around the house and it works well. I purchased this from Magnet Mart.

I think the epoxy will do a better job than the levelling compound. It will be a lot more accurate and durable. I would have used the epoxy for my pier base but I could not find a supplier for the quantity I needed. I didn't look to hard because the Ardex product did a good job and was very easy to use.

hope this helps.

cheers
Phil

Yeah I think it should level really well.
If you do a google search on epoxy floor levelling systems you should find quite a bit of info about it.
I guess it would depend on how viscous the mixture is. If it is too thick it might set before it gets a chance to level.
I would do a test on something else to see if it will level ok. The top of an old table or something, get it partially level put a bit of form work around it an fill it up. When it sets put the level on and see how good it is.

Cheers
