What's a good regular photography course?

I am interested in learning more about photography in general.

What is a good course? I am leaning towards a DVD tutorial type course like Astrophotography by Adam Block or Tony Hallas type of thing. But if there are TAFE or Uni short courses I'd be interested also.

Greg.

I'm afraid it's not as easy as that. Photography is so varied.

If you do a course at TAFE, you'll end up learning things you already know. Go to uni, and you'll have to study things that you will dislike, most likely.

The best thing to do is set yourself a goal and work towards it. Mine is primarily landscapes; capturing land/sea masses void of human artifice (makes it tough, and, therefore a challenge) in pure light.

People photography is harder still.

Your personality dictates the type of photographer you are. I'm an introvert, and, so engage in photojournalistic type of people photography.

Once we have our respective new cameras, we should have a dawn shootout on the coast at my favourite location.

It may help you with a few settings. Just click on the tabs. There is even a video on the last tab.

There are a lot of tips in general at http://www.cameralabs.com including a forum.
