tak FS60/q refractor

Can any one used to this scope advise
i am planning to buy this compact scope and gettting used to the system. It takes 1.25 diagonal as standard . does it need extension to focus 1.25 eyepeices?
can 2inch diagonal adpated to its focusser?

It will focus fine with a 1.25 diagonal for 99% of lenses. The extension tube is required for straight through viewing. It is possible to get a 2" adaptor, but it's somewhat limited to which Eps will come to focus, and which diagonals are compatible.

I agree with the previous post for the standard FS-60C however I am not sure what are focus parameters for the FS-60Q model or when the FS-60C is fitted with the new Q extension tube in front of the focuser.

My fault ! I missed the Q ... I think you may be right, the Q version has a heap more back focus... The extension tube may be required for the 1.25 diag (one should be included however) ... it makes life easier for the 2" adaptor with much more room to play.

Ed Ting review on FS60 csv says extension required even with diagonal. May be this model is more for imaging as its short tube .The current model FS60CB /q seems to have enough travel for visual use with out needing too many extras.

you are right james.This from cloudynights thread.The latest version F 60CB/Q model has enough travel for visual use unlike 60C.

The FS-60C..CSV..CB.. all share the same objective i.e. D60mm/FL355mm only the tube lengths differ. When I have the time I'll post some pics of the relative tube lengths plus accutrements of each model and the latest 1.7X tube additions which I have collected over recent years. From my involvment in amateur astronomy spanning over nearly 40 years the humble 60mm (2.4") refractor offers a lot in terms of relatively large field of view, ease of portability and satisfying views of the more common astronomical objects.
