Moon 10th Feb + LTVT

Various aspects of the Moon this morning. Focal lengths used were from 1500mm to 21,000mm - obviously too much for some shots but I thought they were of interest. Canon EOS 600D, 5x Powermate, 2x teleconverter, 1.4x teleconverter, 12" Sky-Watcher Goto Dobsonian manually tracked.

I love what the DOB can do, well done Tom. I especially love the last one on the first post. I think the second post may have been a bit too extreme but well done nevertheless.

Just one think I saw I look at your image (the last one). I decomposed it with GIMP and found the Red Channel is sharp as, The green channel is slightly worse but the Blue is letting the clarity down.

The amount of detail on the red channel is really great. Try it and see for yourself.

I believe it the one of the extenders that is causing this but not really sure.

I still say exceptional effort.

Thanks Brad and Rob, and thanks Malcolm I had a look like you suggested and the red channel is definitely the clearest. I'll go over the original images and see what I can do to clear it up.

Rob I enjoyed seeing that mountain too. I guess it's one of the Rook Mountains of Mare Orientale?

The photos are awesome the last two photos make me feel like I'm walking on the moon surface and it's really hard to believe these were taken from earth.

I managed to image the Moon's North Pole in this image - top right. I used the Lunar Terminator Visualization Tool program to firstly map the image onto the surface, then use the LTVT's database to display the craters with names and sizes.

Thanks for all the comments guys I increased the saturation on the Copernicus image and then created an oblique view of it using the Lunar Terminator Visualisation Tool.
