Vela Remnants in Ha widefield

Here's one of the pics I've just finished processing from last night. This was taken with a SMC Pentax-M 100mm F2:8 fully open and a QHY9 mono with a Baader Ha 7nm. Each panel is 6x600s exposures. Stacked in CCD Stack, stitched in registar and processed in PS.

Thanks to Greg B. for letting me know where to point exactly to maximise the whole field. Uncropped version here.

Mike S. did a fantastic narrowband color version of the small filaments in the center. There's a lot going on around this field of three panels each roughly 10x8 degrees so will revisit with some color when weather plays nice again.

There's also a plate solve here done in unimap.

It looks fantastic Marc. What a great vista. That area is the wonderland of the Southern Sky.

Great vista Marc

Been away on a family emergency but I got your PM via email to my 2008 Telstra crapo phone which is too hard to reply from. I see Greg came to your aid though, so that's good

It's a fantastic area as your wide shot shows - lots of the interesting bits.

I will likely target another bit of it with the AG12 next session, and I could keep going like this all Vela season too I would imagine....who know, might even end up in my first mozaic

Mike

Thanks a lot Trent. That 100mm is quite sharp on axis if I nail the focus.

Thanks Rich. Suprisingly very little work in there. The data was good out of the box. Just a bit of stitching required.
