Who has viewed Abell 35 planetary?

Hi all, I tried in vane last night to image this large faint planetary on the border of Hydra and Corvus. It is over 11' in size, and magnitude 12, so very faint. I have read that a 12" scope is needed to view the brighter parts of this planetary that appear like a bow wave.

So has any of you with large diameter scopes viewed this planetary?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Glen. No wonder I had no luck with recording an image after seeing its ill defined edges and the size instrument and camera used.

I appreciate it. All the best.

Abell 35 and Abell 36

I saw the PNs Abell 35 and Abell 36 last night. Abell 35 was larger and slightly brighter than Abell 36.
Both were very faint in my 16" Dob at 86 times with a UHC filter. An OIII filter did not improve the view.

Good viewing Glen, I will have to remember to try my UHCs filter when I get back into planetary nebula.

All the best.
