Presentation on planets at Bendigo, Thursday November 3rd

I have been kindly invited to give another presentation at the Bendigo District Astronomical Society on Thursday November 3rd, starting at 8pm at the Science Discovery Centre.

To help illustrate my talk, I will be bringing along some of my scale model planets, so you can see just how small some of them are compared to the Earth, and even a scale model of one of the larger ones I will also talk about some of the exo-planetary systems and have a number of models that I use to illustrate how they work (doppler, transits).

So please come along, I promise it won't be boring....

Any chance of you going there this Sat Trevor
Sounds great, when do you think it will end (10ish?). Will it just be a presentation or will you take your scope for a show (heavy gear)?

I am leaving for Bendigo after work, hope to get there by 7:00 and then head home after the talk. I expect it will be finished by 10:00, perhaps earlier?

Last time the room was completely full, bout 60 people. Hopefully we get a similar turnout.

I will be on the local ABC radio around 8:40am on the Friday before.

Did anyone hear me on ABC Bendigo? We were a little late, about 8:50, but it was fun

Hope to see some of you up there!

Well we had about 20 people turn up for my talk, hopefully they all enjoyed hearing from me and I can organise another talk some time next year.

Planets was a great talk at BDAS, thanks to Travor Hand

Hi Trevor,
Yes, the talk was great and we all enjoyed it very much.

I have created a page on our website so that anyone who missed the talk can go there and watch the videos.

Thanks again, and see you soon.
