Are ED 100 lens cells available?

This questions leads on from hammermans review of the Orion Sky View Pro 100 and Avondonk's desire to have a go at shortening one with a hack saw.

I don't think I'm brave enough to try that on a new ED 100 OTA but I would give it a go on my 102 Celestron if the ED 100 lens cells were available as a seperate item. Does anyone know where lens cells can be bought and if ED type cells are available as individual units rather than complete OTAs?

It's a shame they don't have them in 102mm Bert. I'm thinking of something that will replace the existing 102 cell on my old achro and upgrading it.

Not something I'll be doing soon but definately something I'd like to think about down the track. I have the Orion ED80, but if I can modify my ol' 100 cheaper than buying a brand new apo that is definately something I would consider.

Yes, mine arrived last week (80mm WO TMB Fluorite doublet). Apparently there is meant to be same felt around it, so I haven't installed it yet. (I didn't know about the package that also included the 2 speed microfocuser, or I would have got that.)

Thats an interesting upgrade, my ZS80 would benefit from that, would turn my grab & go scope into an APO. Will be keeping that in mind for the future.

Thanks for the heads up.
