Canon Normal EF 50 mm f/1.2L USM Autofocus Lens

Hi everyone,

I have a like-new Canon 50 mm f/1.2L lens for sale... very reluctantly, as I'm returning to full-time study in a couple of months and need to liquidate some toys

I bought it brand new from B&H Photo Video in the US in December less than a year ago. The lens date code is UY1009, i.e. it was manufactured in October 2010 at the Canon Utsunomiya factory in Japan. The serial number is blurred in the attached photos for obvious reasons.

It is had very little use (maybe ~500 frames ever) because I prefer to shoot with other focal lengths (i.e. 14L, 35L, 85L, 200L) as you may have seen from my posts in the terrestrial photography forum.

The lens is in perfect optical and mechanical condition (no problems that I'm aware of) and recently underwent a "re-calibrate, clean, and test" at Canon's facilities in North Ryde when I had a flash repaired.

There are a few very minor scratches on exterior surfaces and a bit of external dust from normal handling - nothing that affects image quality or mechanical operation.

This lens includes everything from the original package:

* Canon EF 50 mm f/1.2L lens
* Leather lens pouch
* Rear dust cap, lens cap, and lens hood
* Original shipping box and packing foam

*** Asking price is $1350 plus shipping at buyer's expense. ***

If interested, please contact me via PM or email at naskies@acm.org. I'm also willing to negotiate a trade+cash for a Meade 16" Lightbridge

I had one of these. Beautiful lens, with monstrous aperture.

Good luck on the sale.

Thanks H. Yes, it is an amazing lens - a shame that I don't use it very much!

For sale again. Someone from Gumtree tried to screw me at the last minute... not happy, Jan!

Scumtree. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Anyone who posts anything at Gumtree is asking for it. :-)

Yeah, after a few "not positive" experiences with Gumtree-ers I'm starting to get that impression! In contrast, the person from FredMiranda that bought my 200 f/2 flew up from Sydney, picked it up in person, and handed over a bank cheque... talk about great buyer service ;-)
