If the weather forecast wasn't bad enough I was not even going to be home in Brisbane for the eclipse. I decided that I might as well take the 12" Dobsonian down and see what happens.
There was a nice cloudy moonrise and eventually the sky went overcast with some spitting rain. I had the 600D, 200mm lens and 17-55mm lens and tripod so took some shots before it clouded up. I decided to go to bed but set the alarm for 11:20pm just in case it had cleared up. When the alarm went off after and hour I was sorely tempted to just go back to sleep. I decided finally to look out the window to see the eclipsing Moon in partly cloudy skies.
I rushed to set up get the scope out of the car and set it up. No time for alignment! As the eclipse went on I tired a variety of shots and videos with the Dobsonian, the 200mm and the 17-55mm, eventually getting back to bed at 3am or so. Here are some of the results of the evening.
