Thumbs up Bill Bradfield award

This year I was lucky enough to win the Bill Bradfield award. The award is held for amateurs astronomers who are residents of South Australia. My contribution to JUPOS for the last 6 years was seen as a worthy contribution to astronomy and in particular for the research material I produce (ie the images) for the program.

It is a great honour to win the award because Bill is such a great amateur that many would know of in Australia as being a discoverer of 17 comets. In SA his comet finding skills are seen as legendary and he has the highest respect from ASSA.

Bill was unfortunately unable to present me with the award as his health is not great these days. I met him a few years back now and know the sparkle in his eyes when one talks of contributing to astronomy.

Thanks Bill for the chance to win the award.

Well done Paul. It's good to see recognition of your services to amateur astronomy as you have also been a great help to many here on a number of topics.
