hi Brendan

i thought of you this afternoon. i could see the smoke over your way earlier this afternoon across the estuary. within about 30mins it was a massive black cloud. i heard on the radio it was in Banyup (?) so i was relieved to find out it wasn't so close to you.

i don't know any more details as to exactly where and what was burning. possibly just bush.

the smoke all seems to have cleared and (sorry to say) this breeze is just divine. i'm almost cold!

Went for a walk this evening... star twinkling like mad... I'm glad I didn't bother.

Tomorrow is suppose to be hot and windy. Bad news for me as I'm at our corporate Xmas lunch and drinks @ the Aviary... I think I'll cut out early and head for some A/C and a cheaper bar around quitting time... I'm so disappointed at the cost of beer in this country

OIC!

I'm out down here in Australind. Strong breeze though. I've had to tune down the autoguider and it's not helping piggybacking a Canon on the FLT sticking out like a rudder!

Tried last night but high cloud moved in around 10pm.

I have to be up at 6AM so I'll get to about 2AM and try tarping my gear for tomorrow night.

I got round stars on my 1st sub a few minutes ago with 5minute exp so I'm hoping for the best.

Good luck everyone!!!!

Darrin...

Brendan, I thought you would have trying out the 90mm get some wide field in and be less at the mercy of the wind? I shall sit here at work and try not to be too green with envy!

I got the dob out to have a poke around with my newly aquired SPC900. Hooked it up .. point at the moon with Telrad.. nothing ...(telrad not quite right) move..nothing .. oh wait light. focus . bam! Yeah - pretty happy with first aquired vid of moon and then Jupiter. Absolutley bitten to death by mozzies as I was too exited to get in and put some Rid or longer pants on!
