shaft couplers

Hi,

i've been looking for 4mm to 6mm shaft couplers, but can't seem to find any sources.
i've checked the usual smallparts.com.au, minibearings, ebay and a couple of others but can't find 4mm to 6mm.

the output shaft in my gearbox is 4mm.

I need to couple this with a 14 tooth T5 Aluminium timing pulley on a 6mm steel shaft supported by two ball bearings.
any suggestions?

Try and get rubber tubing with a hole which is a tight press fit on the shaft. You can make clamps to secure the coupler or use Bojan's method of clamping with cable ties. For greater anti vibration use squares of silicone rubber as in second pic. The couplimg tube is guled into the outer silicone pads. The pads are joined with pop rivets on alternate corners.

I just did a search on ebay for "4mmx6mm coupler" and it came up with a cnc flexible coupler - most probably exactly what you wanted.

The alternative is to get a spider or lovejoy coupler where one piece is the 4mm bore and the other is the 6mm bore. Try TEA Transmissions at http://www.tea.net.au/welcome.aspx?mid=7

TEA also have a helix coupler which is 4mm to 6mm - model "WKAS 1922 04/06" which is probably exactly what you need (and similar to the ebay one), but I have never bought from them, so don't know if they have minimum orders or such.

A colleague at work gave me a few sample spider coupling pieces and these look quite easy to make if you have a lathe and a mill.
