Sickening sight, along with the grey drab overcast that goes with it. Took the dog for a walk, full overcast, everything felt dead, no people, no life no nothing. Compare that to a sunny day, everyone is out enjoying it and the world is colourful and bright
Good luck in that valley Ken! P.S. should flush all the snakes out ;o)
I thought you took most of them back with you Logan

Yeah Sab, it is miserable weather. I haven't seen too many people with smily faces in the last 2 days.

We've copped it for 3 days now. It's still going. I don't mind so much, actually. The water company down here is $40 million down in revenue this year due to the rain, lol.
H you will find that after extensive research and consultation with their customer base they have found that that the best interests of all some rates need to be adjusted to better reflect fair market value, this may mean, in some cases, that bills increase....then they will put it on you for actually using water you eco vandal etc. Mean while they will continue to allow mega litres to leak out of their pipes...
And yes it has been as bad as we all think...this from the smh today:
Observatory Hill had 48 days of rain, the most since the bicentenary. Hours of sunshine per day fell to seven, down more than 30 minutes. Only nine days were "clear" – the term for a day on which more than three-quarters of the sky, watched in the six hours after 9am, is free of cloud. Climatologists must look back to 1954 to find a summer so overcast.
I just found out yesterday that Mackay District has had 100mm less rain than normal this wet season. Which surprised me as it has been cloudy everyday for ages now so we have had no viewing and little rain either
Dry Dry Dry.........here in Perth
We had a little attempt at a shower the other day....
mrrgrrrrmph....( only cause I want some water in the garden)
And yes H, the water corp will charge weather( yes pun) it rains or shines ......
Bartman
Mind you, I would hate to be in the Sydney area over the next day or two
Actually it has been steady soaking rain. Well, if it has to rain, this is the best - rather than electrical storms, huge downpours and wind!
My duckpond is back. A place out the front where the water pools against a road, making a pond some 20m wide that lasts for some days. But, they always know! It might be dry the night before, but if it ponds overnight, as soon as I wake up I look and there are a couple of ducks on it. How do they know?

Spare a thought for those of us in the country, absolutely belting down here, flood evacuations in place, 84.0mm to 0900 for the previous 24 hours, last 24 hour figues aren't posted yet but I would say it would be well in excess of 60mm, has not stopped for the last 4 days...........
Down here in SW Vic we have had a very dry start to the year. No rain out of this latest lot everyone is getting. Yesterday I noticed I have a couple of dying trees presumably from lack of water. Mind you it mightn't have rained but we haven't seen much of the sky. Blowing a gale here now.

yikes well make sure it stays up there at the end of the month Take care John
Yep looks like is clearing, should be quite nice fro a week or so, maybe even longer, it sure has been wet though, one would have to wonder where it all comes from.
Its pissing down again now, had a break in the clouds at lunchtime, but it disappeared.
The town smells like a swamp, and the river has just come over the banks, it is about 120 metres from the house now.
