pentax 67 adapter

Hi all,

Im about to make a dicision shortly on what pentax 67 lense to get. before i do this i would like to hear from individuals who have used these lenses or who could otherwise help.

1) is a preciseparts adapter all i need to couple it to an stl11000 for it to work?

2) Im confused about the mounts on these lenses, are some m42, others K mounts, and others just 67 mounts? - which one would i use to mount on stl11000?

3) Ive seen the registration distance for the pentax K is 45.46mm and the pentax 6x7 84.95mm - which one of these is the pentax 67?

4) what are the options for using an adapter to attach a nikon FX lense to the mount used to attach the pentax 67 to the camera? Would this even be possible with the pentax mount in place due to the long backfocus of the pentax 67 (if it was the 84.95mm above) and so not allowing a nikon lense to focus - not sure about their backfocus, but i assume its less.

thanks
Josh

Here is my current lens imaging rig:

http://www.pbase.com/gregbradley/image/137897274

It goes FLI Proline 16803, FLI filter wheel, adapter, FLI digital focuser (PDF), adapter Pentax 67 lenses.

The last Pentax 67 lens adapter was made by Ashley at Precise Parts in Miami. He bought a Pentax 67 adapter from a camera shop and then connected it to an adapter that fits into the FLI focuser.

It all works well.

I have imaged with an STL and a Nikon 180ED F2.8 and Canon FD lenses - an 85mm, a 105 I think.

I got a Mogg Adapter from a guy in NSW who makes them in Delrin plastic. It worked fine. In fact I still have it.

The FLI PDF focuser makes fine focus easy. You can do it by trial and error just by moving the focus ring on the lens and then taping it with a bit of electrical tape once you've got it if you want to.

I don't think focus would be as accurate though as with the FLI focuser.

But it does require enough backfocus to be able to do that setup. The Pentax 67 lenses have 87mm of backfocus which is a lot more than most lenses.

Greg.

Thanks Greg,

I will probably order an adapter from PreciseParts - will cost more than the lense
What did you use to mount your Nikon 180ED F2.8 and Canon FD lenses on the same MOGG Adapter? or did you have two seperate adapters. i have a couple of Lenses that fit the older canon FD mounts that i would like to try out.
Do you want to sell your Mogg adapter

Josh
