Flamenco

Something a little different to the landscape norm from me. Not having a dedicated macro lens, it was time for the tubes to make an appearance for the first time in 8 years.

Tulip after blooming.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM, Canon EF 12 II, Canon EF 25 II
1/250s f/2.8 at 200.0mm iso100

1280x version here.

Cheers for looking.

Nice one mate. Are you still processing in DPP? I think I am starting to see why you like it so much. I have used it all this week for my nature stuff and the colours and creaminess of the finished product out of that program are just spectacular!

Been down to Floriade?

Baz.

Thanks, Nettie, you're always so sweet to me, but I'm pretty sure H would prefer it if we just keep the comment about his work??

Thanks, Mish, Jen and Barry.

And, yes, Barry, I process in nothing bar DPP. DPP is the /only/ Canon CR2 format RAW converter. Everything else is a hack. Load up your images in Adobe Bridge or Adobe Camera RAW, and, at first you'll see they look spectacular. Then, give it a second, and then ACR/LR/AB apes the data and makes it look like crud.

What's happening is that the embedded JPG thumbnail in the RAW is being displayed, moments before the decoder/converter goes to town on the actual RAW data and tries to show you what it thinks you captured, rather than what you captured.

DPP is king; king in its simplicity and king in the results it produces.

H

I'm not usually a fan of flowers, but this shot really does work for me. Like it. I see a macro lens in your near future. :mwuhahahha:
