Congratulations Al (sheeny) you won the June challenge with your magnificent 'Winter' scene, a beautiful shot indeed.

Well done also to our runner-up Shane (suma126) with his moody winter image, and jenchris with Octane in third place, nice going folks.

Great to see so many participating, I hope you enjoyed the round.

Al you get to pick this month's theme.

Congratulations to Al, Shane, H and jenchris and to everyone who participated.

Some fabulous images! Shane's was looking very "Ingmar Bergman" there.

I must admit though, after corresponding with many astronomy enthusiasts
living in higher latitudes on Earth, the idea of having to shovel snow out of the driveway
every morning in the freezing cold just for the privilege to be able to then get to work
is something most Australians I sense are happy to forgo.

Thanks guys. I feel I was quite lucky with this months competition being this topic and getting the weather I did. Its the sort of luck that explains only too well why I'm not rich from the lottery... I do love the look of the Australian bush in snow, though.

There was certainly a wide variety of "takes" on the idea, and great to see so many participate. Congratulations to all.

I've been tossing up between 3 possibilities for next month: a portrait, a streetscape and, the one I've chosen is "Tracks and/or prints". Let your imaginations run wild with that one! I think there's scope for everything from macros to landscapes...

Al.

Great shot Al, and good work from the others on the chase... way too much class for me to come even close to competing.

Great theme this month Al... I suspect there will be lots of great interpretations for this... lots of possibilities.

Hi Al,

I keep a copy of a book in the boot of the car entitled "Tracks, Scats and Other
Traces: A Field Guide to Australian Mammals
". I suggest we stick to photographing
the tracks and skip the scats.

That's what I'm hoping. And probably not a topic where people have a heap to choose from in their "archives".

I agree. Its hard to imagine anyone taking a photograph of a scat that would be worthy of hanging in the living room...

Al.
