Question Volcanic Ash and the lunar eclipse

Wondering how this will affect our views of the eclipse, and was getting a bit worried.
Seems NZ will be covered in the cloud soon, and some flights are being cancelled. Looks like Tassie will also be affected ..... seems the sah has taken a .. 'sun polar shortcut' so looks like all will be OK in the northern Auz.
On a good note, volcanic ash in the air makes for some speccy colours in the sunsets, and maybe around a blood red Moon.

Skies are covered in clouds here anyway so a bit of ash is not even noticeable
Been a few pix posted of absolutely startling coloured evening sunsets down south, they look unreal they are so brilliant. Looks like it's going to be 'workshop' astronomy for a while. Commnets on yellow halos from SO2 round the sun and thoughts on how long this will hang a round. Could be a while especially if the volcano keeps chucking it up in the air.

It IS going West, all the way West, right around the world and back again. Those Jetstreams can move a lot of dust at high speed and high altitude. Eventually the Chileans will get their own back ... cos we're sending it onwards to them.
