M20 with the EdgeHD14 at F11

This is a quick and dirty stack of all the subs (Ha, O3 and SII all lumped in together just to see what we might have). Taken tonight before the rain found me. I managed 6x10 mins per filter with an ATIK11002M with OAG on the EdgeHD1400 at F11.

You are becoming the "narrow field king"!

How are you focusing this beast Peter? I think I saw something that looks like an electric focuser in a pic of your setup. It just looks the tiniest bit soft to me, or do you think that was the seeing of last night?

That rain was a bugger last night. I had my first night with the scope in the backyard and my computer in the house via a long USB cable - rather civilised. I was 30sec from finishing one run, when the guider alarm began to sound - lost guide star. I packed up as the faintest of rain began...

Thanks guys. Rob, you're ahead of me. I have yet to learn the arts and mysteries of colour combination/mapping etc. I was really just trying to get some sets of data together to take with me to the AAIC so I could "practice what others preach".

David: bit of both I think. I'm waiting till my next trip to Brisbane to visit Ron at Sirius and grab a Bahtinov mask for the 14". I have a motorised JMI focuser on it but because it's an EdgeHD scope and requires a fixed distance between the rear cell and imaging plane, I have to use the standard SCT focus knob for coarse focus and only use the JMI for the final tweak. But with a Bahtinov, I'm reasonably confident of getting pretty good focus.

I found this Don Goldman video a great insight into a flexible workflow for NB Peter. I haven't searched here - I'm sure there's a wealth of info others have provided, but up until now I really didn't "get it" how to control the colour assignment.

(Whatever Marc has been doing seems to have worked pretty good too....)

No rain at crows nest, just cold ....at least the skies are great when the clouds go.
