Awesome shot of the ISS and Endevour

Latest pic from APOD.
Seeing this just makes my jaw drop!
The larger pic has so much detail!
BTW are they the stars in the background or artifacts?
Hope you enjoy too.....

Cheers

Hi Bart,

Thanks for the link.

That's what we refer to as 'Big E' Engineering.

Great picture. Really got a sense of how huge this thing is. Looks like it's getty a bit messy too now. They need to tidy up all those cables.

thats amazing.

this picture really shows how the ISS was built and "placed" so to speak in the void of space in a 3 dimensional point, just flying about.

I wonder how often they use onboard thrusters to maintain its orbit. laws of physics at its best.

Just Imagine being in that Soyuz taking that shot!?!
If you ever have seen those massive dump trucks on a mine site and compare how many would fit on that pic..............
Here is a ( very quick, very bad ) pic I put together. Not sure if I got the ratios right ( I think the truck should have been a bit smaller).
Cheers
Bartman
Just had a quick look at dimensions for both vehicles.
ROUGHLY....
ss height 17m - truck 7m
ss length 37m - truck 37
ss width 23 - truck 9

so the ss is roughly 2.5 x the size of a Cat 797 haulpak

So true for both those quotes! How often do they re-fuel the thruster engines????
