Astronimica - Millennium House

I have just purchased Astronomica by Millennium House Pub (Hardback) - 2010 reprint. I have been looking a getting this for some time. It is a wonderful book both as a table piece as well as for education, information and pleasurable reading.
Forward by Sir Patrick Moore with Prof Fred Watson as consultant. It covers many subjects including, Solar System, Stars, Galaxies, Cosmology, History, Space Exploration and Observing with constellation charts. 524 pages of well written and researched articles and superb pictures.
I bought it from Book Depository UK as their price was well below anything in Aus. I paid $32 AU (including shipping), most stores in Aus have it for $70-90 (plus shipping). Although Angus & Rob do have it on special at the moment for $45. I find it very strange that a book published in Aus is cheaper to buy from overseas than in here.
I would recommend this book to anyone interested in astronomy.

I love this book! And such a bargain for the sheer size and information presented in the book- 500 odd pages.

I started a thread on it last year. http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...tronomica+suzy

Our very own LesD (Ngcles) did a large amount of work on it in the constellation pages. He is credited in the book.

Book Depository in the UK offer such great prices and service. Works out about half the price (and free shipping) than what books cost here. I ordered five books from them last week and tonight I'm about to order another. Woohooooo.

Hi Molly,

Sorry to hijack thread for a sec Rod....

That Stars & Planets book by Ian Ridpath & Wil Tirion is one of my favourite books and my right hand at the scope. I can't thank you enough for recommending it to me. A great observing companion, couldn't be without it.
