Inspired by David's image, I had always wanted to image this faint galaxy of Mag~11, so I captured 10x10 min Lum and 5x5 (2x2) min of RGB. 10"SCT at fl 2500mm.
It was difficult to process due to the presence of the moon and the faint amount of luminance of the galaxy but there are a heap of small faint galaxies in the original that don't show in the jpeg.
Anyway here it is, comments welcomed.
No David thats the full frame from the 10" SCT. There is a small section on the RHS that needs to be cropped due to the RGB overlap being incorrect, but I'm pleased with the resolution of the scope and its field of view. I was going to take oly the 127mm scope to Astrofest but changed my mind due to this photo and will take the 10" instead. I want more aperture and resolution and I'm thinking of the 12" GSO RC for that. Im hoping that in the observatory the G II Losmandy will handle it.
Glad you liked it Ross. I went through the NGC catalogue and downloaded each photo of a reasonably seen galaxy from my location and am gradually looking at all of them.
