Saturn April 27th in almost good seeing.

Hi All,

imaged Saturn very early last night in an attempt to catch the head of the storm. Surprisingly, the seeing was quite reasonable at lower alt but deteriorated after an hour or so.

Have some nice detail in the region of the head of the storm and also the overlap of the tail along with a faint plume in the SEB and Rhea.

Thanks for looking.
Regards
Trevor

Thanks Ray, yes there has been a most distinct bright spot associated with the head for some weeks now.

Thanks Jeanette, it was nice to get some almost good seeing, we had really nice weather over Easter but the seeing never got anywhere near the predictions.

Thanks Asi, reckon we could all do with a dose of stable air.

Just fiddling with the data from the first RGB.
Reprocessed in R6, resampled 120% with the Mitchell algorithm. Have attached an RGB plus an inverted version which shows very nicely the two very delicate strands trailing from the head of the storm.

Regards
Trevor

Storm still going strong, what a good season its been, colour always nicely processed something I am still learning to get right. The col negative makes the storm look even stronger in a weird way.

John.

Thanks John, I think the negative provides a different perspective of the storm structure, particularly the most delicate strands trailing from the head of the storm.

Trevor I like that inverted version it does seem to emphasize the storm.
