I believe Humayun is sporting some bruises to the upper arm due to the sport.

Compound target, field and clout .. here ..

(A bit rusty, at present though).

Won a silver medal at State level for clout a while back.

I was having a go on the weekend at spearo's place. On my third bunch of arrows, I lost concentration or got tired or something stupid, cocked my arm inward a bit too much as I released, and the string hit my arm on the fleshy bit on the inside of my left elbow. You should see the black, purple, blue, and yellow bruising covering a large area of my arm. I look like a domestic violence victim.

I had an armguard on my forearm.

It swelled into a welt almost immediately. Luckily, Frank had some ice packs and compression bandage to try and contain the damage, haha.

I was going to say I asked H to hold out an apple but missed the opportunity.

I do recurve, target only.

Been spending a lot more time (and money) on it lately since I cant do any astro work due to the weather

LOL we were talking about this in chat the other night.
He should be grateful he's a bloke and only caught the inside of his arm. Women have bigger worries.

Never a bowhunter, did target for many years (1977 to 1998). Not sure if can remember everything.

National Field Champion 1987 (proper field not that silly thing with cutout animals that the ABA do!)
National Team 1987
Victorian Team 1986, 87, 88, 89
National Teams Champion 1986, 1988, 1989
National Records 2
State Records 4
State Target 2 silvers 3 bronzes
State Field 3 Silvers 2 bronzes

Injuries put paid to my shooting career, but I still miss it bad, I used to shoot up to 1000 arrows a week when training full on. Still have my gear, even though I can't use it I just cannot bear to part with it!

Ha Stacey;

That reminds me .. once I was lining things up by shooting a few at a bale I had set up in my garage. I slipped up and accidentally put an arrow clean thru my B&D Galsteel roll-a-door. Lucky no-one was passing by in the street. The arrow didn't go completely through, but I still have the hole in it to this day! That was >10 years ago, now.

Didn't shoot again in the back yard after that !

Cheers

I saw another guy accidentally put six over the fence of a park down at Wollongong where we had a clout-shoot happening !

Luckily (again) … no pedestrians ! There were a couple of cops about to raid the garage where the arrows ended up, who saw the whole thing. What a comedy of errors … (they ignored the whole incident).

A real shocker, that one. The guy who did it, had loaned his scope to someone who had a much shorter reach, and he forgot to re-align it all before using it again !!

Was scary, (but funny in a strange sort of way, also).

Cheers

Did you sneak up on that hay bale and then shot it 350 times in the back?

I face my targets front on! They dont scare me!
