Yesterday I finished making and painting a 9 mm thick aluminium plate to go on top of my refractor to carry the 50 mm Borg guide scope and AG,I fitted it all up and achieved balance with camera etc.Just wondering-now I am getting a few more cable to manage,if anyone has any tips on how mange them. They do not seem to sit as well as all the other cables.
Here is a few images of the new gear and set up,thanks to Matt and Gary for the advice and links I received on another thread-re equipment.
That's a very nice setup and the plate looks much better than the one I got from Hutech. I use either an electrical tape or self attaching (similar to velcro) cord tape. I got them from Bunnings.
Chris,
I use a few of them Velcro strap thingies, and try to wrap the bulk at the saddle or close-by so the weight doesn't change too much. What I like about them is that if you get a snag they normally "bust open" without too much damage anywhere else.
Gary
Thanks chaps for advice-I have found some cable ties that stick on to the plate, and 'loomed' up cables, they feel much better I will get some of those vecro things you mention Gary and that will help some more.
Here is some more images. Thanks Matt for feed back on plate-It took a bit of time to sand up,drill, clean, polish and paint-$24 for spray paint and etch primer.A friend was able to supply the aluminium and M6 and 1/4 bolts.
