5128

Just a quick stacking from last nights images and first image out of my new to me, RC8.
Shot under that huge moon with an LP filter on the camera.

12xL (600sec binned x2) 4 each RGB (300sec binned x2)

A number of the colour subs are effected by passing cloud and need to be cleaned up or dropped.
But first image from a scope in my back yard since last September

Added M1. Only got a few NB subs on this (only 2 just useable O3's) so it's not a strong effort plus it looks like rain for the rest of the week so I won't get any more, it's setting earlier and earlier

I was shooting NB M1 for first go nettie to get some idea of image scale from this scope. But I've had a lot of USB issues with the gear and it's not in the sky very long, so I haven't got a lot of it at all The laptop blue screened last night and dmaged mount drivers so I had to reinstall it. It never ends

Well, JJJ, you can take some vicarious credit - it's your RC8 in a new home.

Good to see you got some pics despite adversity, Robin.

After waiting many months for a new camera and guide scope I just found out that I can't run both at the same time under Windows 7 64-bit. The driver is being fixed but there's no ETA yet

I got a 32bit disk if you want to reinstall Rick. I stick with 32 bit for Astro. I've found when the wheel turns the qhy5 drops out. Looks like I need a powered hub on the mount.

You need lots of long subs for NB Geoff. That M1 was all 10minute subs binned x2. The weather is really against that sort of action

Thanks for the offer, Robin, but I'm hoping to avoid going "backwards". There wasn't any point in buying a laptop with 8GB of RAM if I'm not going to use half of it...

Yes, the Crab is my favourite too - very nice detail coming through. Such a fascinating object.

Put it on your NB list for next year guys.
It's getting a bit low now but it has plenty of S2 & O3 to capture.
