Thor's Helmet take 2

Managed to add another 30 minutes of RGB and 70 minutes of Luminance tonight, for a total of L 120, R 80, G 80, B 80.

Processed at the laptop, so forgive me if it's a bit of a mess.

Hey Pete, I thought it was only silly buggers like me up at this time of the night!

Yeah, even from looking at inside just before bed, I'm quite pleased with it now. I found it easier to process with more data and obviously a stronger signal.

Still it's probably the faintest object I've imaged, so glad I've got something to show for it.

Yes Louie, I do wish I could have managed a bit more, but with the weather lately, I think we should be happy with what we can get!

Probably more capture work on this than anything else i've done. I'm going to try and get some Ha, before camp and see if I can blend it, just to smooth it out and give a bit more definition. See how it goes hey?

A very nice image. A tough target too.

Its actually quite bright in S11. I found out by accident as I had my S11 filter in when I thought it was Ha!

Thanks Greg,

Yes probably the faintest I've imaged. The desktop is littered with various processed images trying to prize data out of it. I'm happy with the result.

Hi Darren,

One night last year, at Coona, we spent quite a bit of time looking at this object visually
through 25" and 30" scopes, going back and forth between the two to compare.

Fabulous to now see it here so nicely captured in full color! Beautiful!

Very nice Darren, good control of noise, good colour, nice detail and good focus. All add up to a nice image.
Well done. I think I have forgotten how to get a good image , it's been so long.

At night playing with a 25 and 30 inch scope, sounds like great fun.
Thanks of the kind words.
