Skyline

Just caught the trailer for the new Earth invasion movie 'Skyline'. Looks promising although I don't recognise any names on the cast list.

"Strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth."

Hope it is not another Cloverfield

Hmm, Ok Shelley, not sounding good, which is sometimes a good way to into a movie. I must google some info on it.

I enjoyed it, thoroughly!

The almost vomit was due to the gyroscopic recording and I was on a flight!

I agree with Shelley, though, the movie's going to be an epic fail.

Skyline Movie Review

Utter bull. Seriously the worst movie I've ever seen. Great CGI. No story, no character development, no meaning, made no sense at all. Left open in the end probably for a sequel ... ?! Why do they bother. Save your pennies and wait for the DVD if any. In a nutshell you'll know as much about the aliens and what they're doing by watching the trailer... or watching the entire movie. Zip. Nada.

Wow! That was weird. All the news segments in the trailer didn't even make it in the actual movie. I guess they had nothing interesting in the movie itself to make a trailer so they added sugar.

To give you an example of how stupid that movie was, the first 5min of the movie pass on with those lights falling off the sky then the director must have realised 'oh wait! we haven't introduced any of the characters!' so backflash 24h before the event introducing the 5, 6'ish characters for a good 10min. Then you link back to now and watch the first 5min again to get into the flow of the story.

There are so many original ideas in the plot. They nuke the ship but it doesn't destroy it (ID4). The aliens drive those exo-skeleton creatures (ID4 again). They have alien ships dogfights with USAF (did I say ID4?) The inside of the ship looks like a Matrix set, the flying creatures are clones of the Matrix sentinels (squiddies) and the walking ones are a rip off of war of the world. I guess they were on a budget and reused a lot of the 3D models?

Oh, and the aliens feed on brains, like the good o'le zombies. Very original again . The only good thing would be CGI which are very well done but the hero's mate is the guy from scrubs walking around with a hand gun shooting at 5 storey high aliens !? C'mon!

Not really no. My 17yr old boy looked at me at the end and said wtf was that about? ... and he's an easy customer.

I'm not one to bag a movie. Serious. But I thought I'd do a community service and you guys can save $15 or so and go get a good pizza instead.

Marc - you really do need to learn to express yourself in an open and concise manner mate .

Everything Marc has said here about the movie is spot on. Not sure what I hated most about the movie last night, the movie itself or the guy with his 5 ill disciplined kids who didn't shut up through the whole thing.

In the end a night to forget, except for the company she is just wonderful.

Want to know how good it is? There are only 11 torrent download links.

For a new movie that is pretty low, even the pirates arent banking on it to draw a crowd.

They did save stacks of money on acting for sure .
The dialogs are like:

Girl: "I'm pregnant"
Bloke:" I'm not ready for this"
Older bloke:"Look around you! We are at war! Don't you understand?"

I certainly didn't. This s||t is too deep for me.

The amount of CGI is going to drive the production right into the ground. The sheer volume of effects is like a starwars movie everywhere you look and I have a feeling they're not going to get their money back.
