Lunar eclipse near Canberra

Eclipsed moonrise over Lake George, just north of Canberra.
While it's 400 years since an eclipse coincided with the solstice, it seems it's also been nearly that long since there was this much water in Lake George.

Canon 7d, 70-200 F4L + 1.4 TC
Both images 1/20 @ f5.6, ISO100. 129mm and 280 mm respectively.
First one at 8:18 AEDT. Second one 2 minutes later.

Nice shots Mal.

It's been a long time since I saw something called a lake that actually looks like a lake.

Thanks for the comments and welcome folks.
I'm just getting into combining two of my interests - photography and astronomy; the astronomy from an old-school land surveying positional astronomy background.

This looks like a great place to learn.

Regards,

Mal
