There seems to be two main camps.

Those who pursue Dark Matter and ask questions about its nature, and in this case, its apparent imbalance with Baryonic matter.

And then those who pursue the concept that miscalculations have occurred or, mis-measurements have been made or, that current measurement technologies are not sensitive enough …. all thereby, eliminating the 'need' for darkness.

..All to be expected, I guess, given that the search for darkness is presently at the top of the US Government funding list for astro scientific research, over the next 10 years.

Cheers

I dont think I thanked you for your link to the hunt for dark matter but thanks for that link Craig. I note have no vested interest but an interest nevertheless.
I found it interesting there are even in our times matters where we are still in the dark. I read all the stuff that comes thru on dark matter, dark energy and black holes but that article I felt interesting and for me hinted at some progress. It is probably the amount of "news" reading I do that exposes me to some of the seemingly outrageous propositions folk come up with when publishing stuff on dark stuff that fires me up to opposition.

But clearly there is a problem with some observations not matching the predictions and as we know a scientific theory must be in tune with the observations.

But that is good because rather than being happy with what we have to date it is clear that we are missing something and happily the hunt for the truth is on.

Sorry Alex .. what's this about the hunt for the truth ?
This implies that what we have currently, is a lie.

There is no truth in Science. Perhaps in your old profession there is truth.

Which would serve to demonstrate that the driving motivation in Science is different from the platform you're pitching from. Also, the application of such methodologies, (derived from this tenet), may not be appropriate in the field of Science.

No no no there is no such implication intended ..substitute maybe "hunt for more knowledge" so please see my statements in that context rather than me being at odds..you must know by now I dont hint but will openly call things the way I see them. I would not call anyone a liar because their view may be different.

Which old profession? anyways please dont brand me with behavior found in others or you may be mislead. When in law I was placed on the "outside" because I was always suggesting how we could make things simpler and more efficient... It may come as a shock but lawyers dont really want to make conveyancing easier ..the Torrens title system lends itself to the elimination of so much crap associated with conveyancing but certain folk dont want it that way...why one can only wonder.

I think you confuse me with someone else I am still trying to understand how others see me as clearly it is different to the way I see myself...

Science is one step at a time marching always in step with the demands of scientific method.
I see myself as being rather pedantic about scientific method being followed...some of my criticisms are because I perceive scientific method is passed by...of course it does not happen at the coal face but one can easily get such an impression when only able to view journalists reports on very complex matters.
This does not mean that entertaining ideas must be eliminated in my view.
Have a great day.
