Smile My first moon pics

Hi all,

This is my first post and also my first astro-images, These shots of the moon were taken using my Fuji-film S1800 at 18x zoom. I had to toy around with the aperture and shutter speed but I am pretty proud of the results, And had to share these gorgeous shots. In the near future I am hoping to get a "real" astrophotograhpy setup. Please be kind as this is my first attempt.

Very nice, nice and sharp.

Sounds very familier lol, i justed doing that... next its afocal through a dob, then prime focus and upgrading to a tracking mount... be very careful about walking down this dark (but amazing) path lol.

I am looking at a 10" Skywatcher Goto Dobsonian for just this reason my mate has been letting me use his 8" DOB and 6" EQ mounted reflector and like the feel of a Goto DOB, Then I need to look at DSLR or CCD camera's I would prefer something with USB connectivity (real time images on my PC ) so I guess thats a CCD ? I have seen Digital Camera telescope adapters but there doesn't seem to be much option in regard to using my existing Fuji-film S1800 Camera.

I need more money LOL !

Thanks
Jarad

Thanks

Thanks again for the encouragement everyone ! I have done some researching and emailing and have found that my Fujifilm S1800 can be adapted for A-Focal photography. I will be delivering 'real' pics soon

Well done on your first images

Stick with the moon for a while - it's a fantastic object for the budget conscious and with 2nd hand Canon DSLRs going pretty cheap + an EOS adapter and off you go for under $500 (or Nikon or Sony etc)

You'll be suprised how much time you'll spend on the moon before diving into the darker (and exciting) path of astrophotography where $$$ and time get ya.

Keep at it.

Darrin...
