Day of the Triffids
Day of the Triffids (2009) is currently on Seven..looks good so far plus it's British made. I hope it is as good as the British mini series that was on the ABC a few years ago.

it looked like it was filmed in crapovision, and the lead bad guy was made of wood. poor fella couldn't act to save himself.

I dont think they followed the book to closely though, mind you its been about thirty years since I read it.
I didn't think it was that bad and I've definitely seen worse movies.
