Video output settings

I've been downloading the avi's off the camera with the video output setting at 320x240.
Should I change the settings to 640 x 480 ?
Tell me what to do.

Well, that's what I got told to do with the toucam, so I would assume the answer is yes.

Yes, higher resolution = bigger image scale.

The tradeoff (depending on your camera) might be that 640x480 compresses the data more so you might lose some detail.

Just experiment with both and check the final results!

I would. Go to Settings, and change the output to 640x480.
Like Mike suggests, it MAY slow things down slightly, but with most it seems to work just fine.

All sort of ****e happened when I changed the settings. Frustrating. TV lines through the avi's, the program won't allow preview on screen so I don't know when to stop, lots of dropped frames, and lots of doubled up frames, blah, going back to old system.
The TV card is in an old computer running at only 333mhz, this could explain the glitches.

My first puter ran at 25mhz had an 89meg hdd which I dblspaced to 160mb. I used to think it was sooo hot. I bought a CD rom drive and speakers, $600, and used to brag about my Multimedia setup. I thought I would never fill up the hard drive cause it was so huge. LOL

ah ok that'd be it - it's not powerful enough to handle the larger frames.
