EOI 8" F4 Astrophotography Newt

I know there are some people out there that that would love to get into AP, but are unsure of which scope to use, or you know what scope you want to use and there is nothing out there really that cuts the mustard.

Well i am pushing out an expression of interest to see if there are people out there that are interested in a custom built 8" F4 newt specifically designed for astrophotography.

Rough specs

200mm F4 GSO mirror
88mm GSO secondary mirror
either rolled aluminium or carbon fibre truss with aluminium bulk heads (up to the masses which way)
Focuser well that is up to the masses but i kinda refuse to put a dodgy focuser on it, as it will defeat the purpose)
approximately 38mm fully illuminated circle
Finder Scope with the 1 1/4 attachment to utilise the finder guider or your own eye piece
Dovetail top and bottom with the losmandy D style or a vixen style. let me know

Ide prefer to send the system out with a set of cats eye collimation pieces because its essential to line these beasts up accurately at F4 and it is essential to have at least a MPCC.

If i get interest to make for a start 4 as that is about all i can handle straight up then i will get down and design them completely and get a solid price together.

Look forward to hearing from anybody interested.

How about a CNC machined mount? You've got the skills. You could call them the BM8 and B11

Brendan - I know Ive asked this before are you thinking of something like a "Pimp my OTA"? Ive got the scope but it needs pimping

For example:

1. Updating secondary mirror and spider vanes
2. Updating focuser to provide enough back focus
3. Updating primary mirror cell holder and adding cats eye collimation

Let me know
