Caustic acid
Hi
More uninformed reporting.
A news item says a man poured caustic acid over his mate. If it was caustic acid it should be neutral. I gather he got dowsed with caustic soda.

If something is extremely caustic it burns just like acid. But I agree it's poor reporting all the same.
