Think I like the repro more - more detail is apparent. Having had a couple of clear days, I've been able to watch how these two are changing - especially AR11109 - a fantastic show. Thanks for the images, Al.

Some people just have an eye for producing great images, but I'm not one of them

. Every so often I try to improve my images by precessing a bit differently trying to get more detail, etc but I'm not always sure whether its a step forward.

The tricky bit with these solar images is trying to bring out the prominences and the surface detail without losing too much detail near the limb. At the moment I'm favouring capturing the prominences and the surface detail in the one shot rather than doing a HDR or stacking/masking process, so its all in the curves adjustment

The other thing I did in this repro was to pick different alignment points and stack fewer frames (50 instead of 130 in the 1st on) just trying to get it sharper.

Nice work Al. Love the last one. Great detail and superb processing. Are you taking this all through your PST? If so that is incredible.

Edit: sorry just read you are using an ED80 with the blocking filter and etalon.

Since I've had the obs I haven't used my PST much at all, but it will get a run at IISAC!

The ED80 and SM40 works very well for such a small aperture.
