Another Hero Lost

Today a member of the NSW Police Force was taken from us for no reason other than doing his job. Constable William Crews was fatally shot during a drug raid in Bankstown.

I wish to send my deepest sympathies to his family, his friends and his colleagues. As someone who has family members in the Force and undertaking preparations to join myself, this is indeed a most horrendous day.

Ben.

I guess it's one risk factor (taken on board) when signing up for this particular job.

Sorry to hear it.

As a 30 year veteran (now retired) and a former member of a SWOS team, things can and do go wrong in raids, you never know what or who is behind that door when you go through no matter how well prepared you are.

RIP, you did your job and paid the ultimate price.

My thoughts are with his family

Three cheers for the brave men and women that make the thin blue line.

My twin brother has been in for close to four years, and he's had a number of close calls in that short time. The bond between the officers is unbelievable, and showcases the absolute best that humans can be, unfortunatley their best is only brought out when others show their worst.

Sorry for the ramble, it's hit me pretty hard as well (there is a real link between twins, even though we aren't identical).
