how does one reset settings in PSE 8

I'd like to reset settings in PSE 8 every time I close it down or start a new project.
For instance, if I have applied a Gaussian blur on a photo and the setting is say 78, the next photo/project I do has the same setting of 78.
So whatever brush, setting or tool etc I used in my last session returns when I open up PSE.
Tried Google, but from what I can see some of the solutions just show how to reset preferences, not previous settings.
I'm not looking to reset my preferences, such as colour of the working space, cache value etc......

Anyone?

Bart,

Not sure if you can actually do that. From memory, the older versions of Photoshop used to remember those settings. It's been a while (1997).

What you may prefer to do is create actions for your favourite tasks and set the... settings in there.

Thanks H,
I kinda found a fix to what I wanted.
Under the Blue PSE logo upper left, and to the left of the 'brush' window, there is a down arrow. Click on that and an option comes up to 'reset the tool' or 'reset all tools'.
I think that works.......
still trying it out....
Should I post my results in the PSE guide here on IIS?

See http://hiddenelements.com/ Nothing on PSE8 yet but no doubt being worked on. Ask the Hidden Elements developer to see if a tool for what you want is available or try the Adobe online help system.
